MUSIC MINISTRY AT FOOTHILL COMMUNITY CHURCH

The Foothill Community Praise Team and Choir are a vital part of our church community and its worship. Founded on the spiritual and musical backgrounds of Pastor David and Judy Mattson, the FCC Music Team has always sought to enhance and create a dynamic and joy filled environment for worshiping our Lord Jesus the Messiah.

Being a member of the Praise Team or Choir is an opportunity to serve others. At FCC singers and musicians are not performers, but rather facilitators of worship through music.

FCC is an inter-generational church and on Sunday mornings the Praise Team and Choir will offer you a wide variety of Contemporary and Traditional styles of worship music, including music that celebrates the Hebrew roots of our faith.

The FCC Music department is committed to providing excellent, Christ-centered, worship-enhancing music. If you would like to become part of the FCC Music Team, then contact Judy Mattson, our Music Ministries Coordinator.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR SERVICE:

CHOIR:
The central vessel of service for the FCC Music Team is the choir. It provides the greatest opportunity for most people. It is not necessary to have a formal music background or to read music. A typical choir season lasts from October to May and then “breaks” during the summer. Both women and men are welcome. We usually sing during the offertory each Sunday. We also have much larger repertoires during the Christmas and Easter Holidays.Official FCC membership is not required to be in the choir but certainly encouraged. A regular weekly commitment is expected, both for practice and Sunday worship, (of course allowing for normal vacations, business travel, etc.).

SPECIAL MUSIC:
Throughout the summer, and at other times when the choir does not sing, there are opportunities for individuals and/or groups to serve. This may be a vocal number or perhaps an instrumental piece. Special Music offers are appreciated and are at the discretion of the Minister of Music. Please contact Judy if you have an interest along these lines.

PRAISE TEAM:
The Worship Team is composed of both vocalists and instrumentalists. Together they create a diverse yet harmonious blend of Christian music. Space is limited on the worship team. FCC membership is required for vocalists and instrumentalists alike. Regular attendance at weekly practices and Sunday services is extremely important, and expected. Worship team members are also expected to participate in the regular choir.
